Lateefah helped BART secure federal and state funding during the pandemic, ensuring workers kept their jobs while enhancing COVID safety.

Lateefah led the BART board in creating a new ambassador program, providing visible presence and more safety without additional police.

Lateefah successfully pushed for BART’s first-ever low-income rider discounts, and introduced the nation’s first-ever transit sanctuary ordinance.
